Reading Rally
EWI Volunteers Make A Difference
Executive Women International promotes reading worldwide.
Locally we support the Y Teens from the Corpus Christi YWCA program through our Reading Rally held annually during October at the YWCA. This event provides young girls with the opportunity to broaden their horizons through reading.
For many of our YWTeens, the YWCA Reading Rally is an opportunity to attend an event, meet positive role models within the community, and spend the day reading and interacting with friends. The Reading Rally not only promotes literacy, but it introduces young girls in our community to a world of opportunities and knowledge. And at the end of the day, each girl gets to go home with an arm full of books, all for free!
Scholarships
Scholarships from Corpus Christi EWI
This scholarship was established by the Corpus Christi Chapter of Executive Women International to assist adult women intransition to pursue a college degree.
The scholarship is for adult women residing in Aransas, Bee, Jim Wells, Kleberg, Nueces, or San Patricio counties who are undergoing a transition in their lives due to death of a spouse, divorce, loss of job, or the need to change careers due to health issues or physical disability.
One or two $1,500 scholarship award will be given each year. Applicants must be high school graduates or GED certificate holders, or college students. Recipients must attend Coastal Bend College, Del Mar College, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, or Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Scholarship recipients must complete at least 9 credits hours per semester while maintaining a 2.5 GPA.
